One of the important teachings and principles of the Baha'i Faith is World Government. In this divided world there is always danger of aggression against other countries. The results would be; destruction of towns, cities and lost of lives. Each side after the war has to work very hard for many years to repair the damages and be able to serve the people. The resources they have which is taxpayers' money, mainly goes for the defence budget, and not much left for the essential services such as education and national health.

This aggression also creates millions of people in poverty line, unemployment and unwellness. The only International body - United Nations are helping them by dialogue, discussion, continuous communication, sending them envoy and feeling sympathy and understanding. Sometimes, this way works but other times it does not work. Right now, the way it is, if we just carry on this way, the number of people in poverty line, in unemployment, unwellness (distress, grief or anxiety), and also unhappiness would increase a lot.

Each country at present, wishes to create a peaceful environment for themselves in order to serve their people. They are also trying to increase their resources in order to have more funds available. They are looking for trade and tourism as their main business target. Each country is searching to have customers for their trade and tourism, therefore, they establish good relationship with their customer (treat them with kindness and affection and befriend with them). In this style, more businesses are coming, at the same time more united friends, and there will be naturally no war at least.

This way, in this small unity of these countries working together, the Baha'i Faith believes those countries will be able to have a larger establishment together internationally. They could have strong law and order to control for all the movements of their people/citizens; with their advantages and benefits for their rights, equality and respect.

We need the world government in order to save the planet earth. One example of this possible union working is the European Union. The World War II destroyed the entire Europe and many countries, and until now they are repairing the damages. But at the same time, those great European came to understand that they came to the war to create peace which proved to be wrong. This is not the way to create peace! We have to start with unity to create peace. So, Germany and France started; they shook hands and agreed in writing to come together, they became friends and now united.

At present, there are twenty-eight countries united together, and the European flag is lifted as their symbol of unity. They are enjoying their life and their income is much better; their standard of education went up; and their freedom of movement became easy for all the member states to live there or to find a job.

There are two more important happenings for this European Union:

One - their European currency which is Euro is the top among the world currency;

Secondly - they have no war with each other.

These twenty-eight countries next to each other are living safe and secure. There will be more countries to join them. Those are the good reasons this world could follow these great people of Europe. Also I pray for our great country - United Kingdom to remain in the European Union.
