In the History section, we have provided details of how the Baha'i faith came to be; the histories of the spiritual personalities who gave us their messages and how so many of their followers engaged themselves in the new direction of the human existence. You will read also a clear understanding of what happened on those days that had an inside effects into the desperate living condition in that part of the world at that time.
Only the divine and wealthy class have the right to basic education. Women had no authority, no rights and the majority of children were deprived of their childhood education. They had to work instead of going to school. Nor was there a democratically elected rulers: the king governed autocratically, giving favour to the relatives and friends and his words were always final.
In the History section, you will also come to know about the life of those spiritual stars of the East. Their wishes and predictions came into reality as in 1844, the Primal Point (Bab) proclaimed his message from God for the coming of the "Promised One" Baha'ulla'h. The government under the rule of the king rejected and opposed the message. The king sent soldiers into every corner of the country to arrest and execute the followers. As a result of this barbaric act, many innocent people lost their lives and Bab himself was martyred in 1850 when he was only thirty-one years old.
Bab announcement for the coming of Man Yuz-hirulla'h "He whom God shall make manifest" , became a reality and in April 1863, Baha'u'lla'h declared his manifestation in the garden of Ridv'an in Iraq. By the order of the Ottoman government, he had been moved from Baghdad to Costantinople now Istanbul, then Adrianople now Adirne, finally to Aqqa. After his ascension in 1892, his eldest son Abdul-Baha became the 'The Centre of Covenant and Interpreter of the Baha'u'lla'h's messages'. He travelled to Europe and USA to spread the message of Baha'u'lla'h for the unity of mankind and the unification of the world - recognizing all the population as one family.
Following the ascension of Abdul -Baha in 1921, his grandson Shoghi Effendi (1897-1957), carried out his spiritual services to the Baha'i world. He unexpectedly passed away in London when he was only sixty years old. Now the members of the Baha'i House of Justice are engage in providing the Baha'i services throughout the world.
Early Outstanding Baha'i Believers
The following lists are details of some magnificent believers who accepted the faith, engaged in introducing and teaching the Baha'i faith during the early appearance of Baha'u'lla'h. Needless, to say we have chosen some of the thousands of followers in this introduction. They moved forward their goal, highly inspired with courage, love and spiritual power for the unity of mankind.
Mulla 'Ali Bastami - Senior Letters of the Living; he was a determined speaker before the divines of Iraq for the new revelation. They tortured him for speaking the truth. He became a prisoner with hard labour and died in prison in the hands of the oppressors.
Babu'l-Bab (Mullah Husayn Bushru'i) - He was the first believer, went to every town and village in Persia to spread the messages. Finally, he was wounded by the government's soldiers and was martyred in January 1849.

Anis (Mirza Muhammad 'Ali-i-Zunuzi) - A young believer who went into the crowd in the Persian city of Tabriz on the day when Bab was taken for execution. He put himself onto the foot of Bab and asked him desperately to be with him at these moments of his life. Bab accepted him affectionately and the government's soldiers tied him for the execution. On ninth July 1850, Anis was martyred alongside with Bab. Badi' (Aqa Buzurg) The Pride of the Martyrs - He became a volunteer at the age of seventeen to take an important letter of Baha'u'lla'h to the king of Persia. The king ordered his arrest and torture in order to deny his faith. He stood firmly against the oppressors. He never recanted his belief and finally was martyred.---

Jinab-i-Varqa (Mirza'Ali Muhammad) - an outstanding Baha'i with exemplary knowledge in medicine, science and religion, also he was a great poet. He stood courageously during the trial hearing as a Baha'i. He firmly embrace his faith of God. He was tortured but he never recanted his faith. Finally, in May 1896, he was martyred in the hands of these oppressors.

Ruhu'llah - The twelve year old son of Jinab-i-Varqa. He was also taken to prison and was so young to be tortured. But against the human principle, he was tortured to recant his faith. He stood firmly and did not give up his belief. Finally, on the same day, he was martyred with his father for his courageous standing. Twelve year old young Ruhu'llah had been chained, imprisoned, and martyred. He never recanted his faith.>>> |

Ustad 'Ali-Akbar-i-Banna - before his martyrdom he took a leading role to build the first Baha'i house of worship in Ishghabad. In spring of 1903, he returned to his native land in the Persian city of Yazd. The tragic circumstance ended to his martyrdom for his strong devotion to the Baha'i faith. Tahirih'Qurratu'l-Ayn (Fatimih Baraghani) - an outstanding teacher and great poet. She was the first woman who joined the Bab and accepted his proclamation. Haji Sulayman Khan - A devoted believer who was actively involved in teaching the faith. His heroism had gone behind any belief, burning candles were on his pure body to rejoice his master and became martyred.
Sultanu'sh-Shuhada (Mirza Muhammad-Hasan) and Mahbubu'sh-Shuhada (Mirza Muhammad-Husayn) - These were two honourable brothers from the Persian city of Isfahan. The clergy of the city gave "Fatwa" for them to be executed if they do not recant their faith. These two brothers gave their strong message to the clergy that they will never change their heart on their faith. Finally, on seventeenth March 1879, these two faithful believers were martyred on the hands of the oppressors. |
In 2002, the Archbishop Canterbury of the United Kingdom had invited all religious personalities including the Baha'i faith for their normal annual pray for peace and wishing world's unity of mankind. |
