Baha'i Hands of Cause
|
Looking back to the History of the Baha'i faith from the time Baha'u'lla'h introduced his manifestation, until the time Shoghi Effendi became the Guardian of the Baha'i faith, the direction of the Baha'i movement and the Baha'i teachings were in the hands of the forty-seven outstanding Baha'is, honoured with the title of Baha'i Hands of Cause including, Ruhiyyih Khanum, wife of Shoghi Effendi. These appointed Baha'is travelled world-wide and established Baha'i faith administration in each country and elected the Spiritual National Assembly and also provided teachings with references such as books and brochures. Some success had been made and more people recognized the new faith they were introducing for the unity of mankind and love for accepting the world as one family. Their teachings and their movements continued until 1963. When this new Baha'i establishment - the Baha'i House of Justice was formed and started to operate successfully. They decided not to appoint any more Baha'i Hands of Cause but similar work and movement of the Baha'i Faith was transferred to the hands of the experienced and mature good Baha'is as Continental Chancellors. The centre of this teaching is in Haifa, Israel. Also, they appointed various auxiliaries and assistants, who are working to stimulate the teachings and Baha'i communities at the regional and local levels. All of the honourable 47 Baha'i Hands of Cause had already passed away and ascended to the paradise of God. God bless their souls, for their spiritual services which were being cherished and passed on. Details of Some of the Hounourable Baha'i Hands of Cause |

He was born in Burlington, Iowa, from a high class family. His father was Rear Admiral George Collier Remey who was serving respectfully in the military forces of USA. Mason Remey received his education successfully in Cornell University USA. He graduated as an architect and later he studied more in Paris. During his study in Paris, he had an opportunity to see the Baha'i people. He showed his interest in which he later joined the Baha'i faith. He later became a prominent speaker of the religion of our God. In 1951, Shoghi Effendi appointed him as a Baha'i Hand of Cause and also rewarded him as a president of the International Baha'i Council. At the same time, he was assigned to be the architect of the Baha'i House of Worship in Uganda and Australia. Mason Remey actively carried out his teaching and travelling world wide, helping in the Baha'i administration on the day to day movement. After the ascension of Shoghi Effendi in 1957, he was elected as one of the nine members of Baha'i Hands of Cause to protect the Baha'i faith until the Baha'i House of Justice was formed and active. In 1960, Mason Remey announced that he is the second guardian of the Baha'i faith as he is the president of the International Baha'i Council, and he would be suitable for the job. His claim was rejected by all the Hands of Cause as he did not have the following qualification to be the guardian. 1) He was not the related family of Baha'u'lla'h, (Aghsan); 2) He did not have any acceptable evidence from Shoghi Effendi to be the guardian; Mason Remey had a long life and peacefully passed away in 1974. He did a lot of work and a good job during the time of Abdu'l Baha and Shoghi Effendi. He helped the Baha'i teaching to move faster and was the first Baha'i, along with his friend, Howard Struven, circling the world with the teaching and they developed friendship among the people. God bless his soul. |
