20 October 1819 ---- 9 July 1850

Bab was born in 20th October 1819 in Shiraz, southern city of Persia. His given name was Siyyid Ali Muhammad Shirazi. His parents had been respected in their city. His father died in Bab's early childhood and his uncle Khal- Azam looked after him just like his own son. Bab was handsome, remarkable boy and his school teacher was amazed of his knowledge especially in reading. He was so astonished at the power of his language, and the beauty of his hand-writing and his style of communication. Bab grew up in a pleasant environment. At the age of fifteen he started to work with his uncle in his trading company. He was dealing with his customers in a totally honest way and he was learning constructively in every aspect of the business.

In August 1842, he got married happily and began a quiet married life. In 1843, God gifted them with a son but he died shortly after birth. Bab prayed for his emotional lost and comforted his wife with love, prayer, chant and support. From that day on Bab did not go to work and stayed at home and carried on his life with prayer and meditation.

His wife was wondering what was happening to him. One day she prepared a dinner, but he did not show up. She started to search and found him in the upper room, with the luminous face and the glory of spirituality. He was chanting his prayer in a beautiful way. Bab finished his prayer and looked at his wife with tremendous affection and told her ...."It was the will of God to see me with grace to tell you that 'I am The Morning Star of God', I have a message from God for the people of earth that God's sunshine will illuminate the heart of everyone with unity."

His young and beautiful wife believed his words, accepted his manifestation and remained to serving him. She did not know what lays ahead and how her husband would be taken away from her forever. She lived after his martyrdom until 1892, may God bless her soul.

Bab started to initiate his teaching to the people and travelled to the Persian cities of Shiraz, Isfahan and Tehran. His teachings attracted thousands of people and finally was arrested by the government and sent him to the castle of Mah-Ku. He was also transferred to the castle of Chihriq from there, they decided to recant his claim. He rejected them and they decided to take him to the Persian city of Tabriz for the execution.

9th July 1850 became an important day for all the Babi believers. On that day as Bab was moved with the soldiers to military barracks for the execution, a young boy from the crowd pushed himself forward, held his leg and said, "Please take me with you, I am more happy to be with you where ever you are."Bab tried to changed his mind and prayed for him and asked him to go back to his family. The soldiers became rough on the boy and Bab had no other choice and carried on to be moved to the military barracks. Bab called this boy Anis. The military soldiers tied both of them. They asked him if he wish to say anything, and he told them, 'I have not finished what God had told me to say. 'The crown prince Nasaredin- Mirza was sitting there watching and ordered the execution.

The soldiers who carried the execution shot them with 750 bullets. The smoke were all over and after a few minutes they noticed the body of Bab and Anis were not there. They searched and found them in the room that was next to the wall of the execution building. Bab told them, 'Until I have finished what Almighty God is telling me to say, no human on earth can take my life away.'

The grand vizier ordered again the execution and it was carried sadly. Bab and Anis soul went to the paradise of God.
